The cat has been out of the bag regarding KTM's 350 SX-F for some time now but these are the first official photos of the production version of the all-new four-stroke motocross bike.
The compact, dohc 349.5cc engine features an 88.0 x 57.5mm bore and stroke, Keihin fuel injection, four titanium valves with finger-follower actuation, a five-speed gearbox and electric starting. Chassis highlights include a new WP shock with a rising-rate link to a cast-aluminum swingarm. WP's latest closed-cartridge 48mm fork is spec'd up front. A brand-new chrome-moly steel frame is lightweight and provides the ride characteristics that 10-time world champ Stefan Everts helped refine. Fresh bodywork, styling and proven components from Brembo, Excel and Renthal complete the motocrosser's package.
The 2011 250 SX-F is brand-new, as well, and shares many of the 350's attributes, including fuel injection, linked rear end and optional electric starting. At the top of the food chain, KTM's 450 SX-F receives the linked WP shock, but retains its carbureted engine with minor updates. Two-strokes live at KTM; the 150 SX and 250 SX receive new chassis with longer no-link PDS shocks. Engine updates include new airboxes, while the 250 gets an improved exhaust and new cylinder. Pricing is not yet available for the 2011 SX models.
