The 2026 Triumph Trident 660 Triple Tribute.Triumph

Last year, Triumph introduced the Trident 660 Triple Tribute, a limited-edition version of its popular three-cylinder roadster and an homage to Slippery Sam, the famous T150 Trident works racer that won five consecutive production-class victories at the Isle of Man TT from 1971–1975. For 2026, the Hinckley brand is again highlighting its favored son with a reinterpreted Slippery Sam tribute. The 2026 Trident 660 Triple Tribute, like last year’s model, has honorific livery, a fly screen, and a bellypan.

Rather than the white base color of the 2025 model, the new version has a “Sapphire Black” base coat that gives it a more subtle look; red wheels add some appropriate panache. At $8745, it’s only $150 more than the standard Trident and gives buyers a measure of exclusivity to sweeten the deal.

Significantly, the Triple Tribute receives all the updates that came to the standard Trident 660 for 2025. While identical to the 2024 on the outside, the ’25 is a step forward, featuring higher-tech electronic rider aids, more advanced electronic convenience features, and higher-quality suspension components.

First, Triumph added a six-axis IMU to make provisions for lean-angle-sensitive traction control and ABS—a feature found only on high-end offerings just a few years ago. It also added a bidirectional quickshifter with auto-blipping on downshifts, and standard cruise control—pretty luxe stuff for a sub-$9K motorcycle. To offer customers even more value, it integrated a Bluetooth connectivity module, previously available as an accessory. Finally, to take advantage of the new IMU, there’s a dedicated Sport mode (joining Road and Rain modes) that dials in appropriate throttle response and TC settings for twisty road fun.

The 2025 model upgrade also featured the addition of a Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork Big Piston) fork, set up with altered spring rates for improved handling. A forged aluminum top triple clamp adds further value.

Triumph’s three-cylinder engine, a standout in the middleweight streetbike category, produces a claimed 80 hp at 10,250 rpm and 47 lb.-ft. of torque at 6250 rpm. Coupled with a claimed wet weight of 419 pounds and a low, 31.7-inch seat height, it’s no wonder Triumph found immediate acceptance into a category hitherto dominated by Japanese twins like Yamaha’s MT-07.

According to Paul Stroud, chief commercial officer of Triumph Motorcycles: “Following the launch of the latest generation Trident in September, and the global success of the Trident Triple Tribute special edition in 2024, we were keen to meet the demands of our customers for an updated Trident Triple Tribute this year.”

The 2026 Trident Triple Tribute is in keeping with Triumph’s custom of building special-edition models. This year, there’s the Modern Classics’ Icon Editions, the Rocket 3 Evel Knievel Limited Edition, and the Bonneville T120 Elvis Presley Limited Edition. But previous special editions also come to mind: Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200 Bond Editions, Bud Ekins Bonnevilles—the list goes on and on. Special editions range in price, and generally Triumph has done a good job of keeping price hikes coincident with the price point of each model. Thus, the $150 premium for the Triple Tribute is hardly a stretch for buyers of the affordably priced Trident 660.

All in all, flashy paint, a fly screen, and a bellypan are icing on the cake of what is already a compelling package. The 2026 Triumph Trident 660 Triple Tribute will arrive in US dealerships beginning in June.
