Video: Yoshimura Suzuki Has High Expectations for the 2017 GSX-R1000

The pressure of the 2017 MotoAmerica championship is building

This bike will be an atomic bomb. That’s what Toni Elias has to say about his 2017 Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000R superbike. It’s been eight years since the Hamamatsu manufacturer has last produced a new literbike. This time the expectations are high. Suzuki doesn’t want race wins, it wants championships.

Winning the MotoAmerica Superbike crown in 2017 will be no easy task either. Last year's championship battle was one of the best in recent memory, and the title wasn’t earned until the very last race. Key word, earned. The combination of a new GSX-R and pressure from the bosses at Suzuki and Yoshimura could rewrite the story line in 2017. Or produce more tears than glory for the team. It's one or the other. Our bet is on the first.

While the pressure of the MotoAmerica championship builds, take a look at this video. It’s our only fix until season kicks off at the Circuit of America’s April 21st. That’s where we will see if the new GSX-R is really enough.

Think Suzuki can pull this one off?
