Giacomo Agostini won 15 Grand Prix world titles in the 350cc and 500cc classes between 1964 and 1977. The Italian started 186 races, won 122, and podiumed 159 times. He also won 10 Junior and Senior Isle of Man TTs between 1965 and 1972. The devilishly handsome racer from Brescia wore an AGV helmet for the duration, and now a modern replica will be available for fans of Ago worldwide in mid-2018.

The AGV X3000 Ago replica helmet is not the first of its kind; several have been introduced by AGV over the years. This one, though, is the best modern interpretation of what the 75-year-old former racer wore in the 1970s. At $699, it's also quite a bit more affordable than the $1,599 Valentino Rossi 20 Years Soleluna AGV helmet introduced in Sepang recently.

AGV stands for Amisano Gino Valenza (where the company was founded by Gino Amisano in 1946). The company logo bears the colors of the Italian flag. Amisano liked to joke that this was how other riders always saw the helmet of Giacomo Agostini on the racetrack: from behind.

According to AGV, the new X3000 helmet will arrive in mid-2018, with the Super version also optional in four colors for $449. But who wants to settle for super when Superman’s helmet becomes available?
