Suzuki History

When Suzuki introduced the original GSX-R750 in 1985, the company created a template for the modern four-cylinder sportbike. The proof is an impressive string of AMA Superbike championships for the GSX-R1000. Suzuki sportbikes now range from the lightweight GSX-250R to the fearsome 1,340cc Hayabusa, a favorite of extreme-performance junkies everywhere. Like that of other Japanese bike manufacturers, the Suzuki motorcycle lineup extends to low-slung cruisers, versatile adventure bikes, practical-but-fun standards, and single-cylinder dual-sport choices displacing between 200cc and 650cc. Suzuki’s forte may appear to be streetbikes, but its two-stroke RM85 and four-stroke RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 motocrossers compete at the highest level nationally. Add a pair of DR-Z125 playbikes and a couple of Burgman scooters to the mix, and Suzuki has most on- and off-road possibilities covered.
