2018 Honda Rebel 500 Dyno

Honda’s 471cc liquid-cooled parallel twin

With a starting MSRP of $6,099, the 2018 Honda Rebel 500 is a very attainable bike for someone wanting to get into motorcycling. Equipped with a 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin four-stroke and a six-speed transmission, the Rebel 500 not only offers lots of low-rpm torque but plenty of higher-rpm performance.

“This is the bike that takes that lovable little Rebel and turns it into a real-life daily motorcycle. Comfortable at highway speeds with enough torque to get you out of (or into) trouble, the 500 is damn fun.” —Morgan Gales

We ran our Rebel 500 on our motorcycle dyno, and with fourth-gear pulls we got 39.36 hp at 7,670 rpm and 29.86 pound-feet at 6,190 rpm.

Our preferred hearing protection while in the dyno room is 3M's Peltor Optime 105 Ear Protectors.Jon McDevitt
