2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra 107 Dyno

The Motor Company’s Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight produces more than 100 pound-feet of torque

The 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra has a starting suggested retail price of $26,399 and is available in seven colors, four solids and three two-tones. Powering this American-made machine is an air/liquid-cooled, four-valves-per-cylinder, 1746cc (100.0 x 111.1mm) V-twin.

We ran the Road Glide Ultra on our rear-wheel motorcycle dyno in fourth gear to determine peak output from the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine. We documented 78.27 hp at 4,910 rpm and 101.66 pound-feet of torque at 2,810 rpm.

For comparison purposes, a 2018 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special with the standard Milwaukee-Eight 107 that we recently tested produced identical power (78.43 hp at 5,280 rpm) but slightly more torque (104.44 pound-feet of torque at 2,649 rpm).

"Because these new, larger-displacement engines take up less heat from combustion and employ strategic exhaust-valve cooling, they can safely operate at high compression ratios (now as high as 10.5:1) that produce greater power and torque."—Kevin Cameron
