Honda NC700X Adventure Challenge

The Four Challenges
Our lucky victims, er…participants will compete in four contests battling to win the Cycle World Honda NC700X Adventure Challenge. The challenges have been designed to test the skill, intelligence and riding abilities of our Cycle World readers while also providing the participants with genuine and real world experiences aboard the new Honda NC700X.

The Mileage Challenge
Gas isn’t cheap and everyone likes more MPG’s, so for the mileage challenge we asked our four participants to get on a brand-new Honda NC700X and ride from the Honda headquarters to Cycle World in the most efficient and fuel-sipping way possible. The rider with the highest miles per gallon will be crowned the winner of The Mileage Challenge.

The Shopping Challenge
Grocery shopping is simple in an SUV, but it takes brains to get all the ingredients for a gourmet meal to fit on a motorcycle. The challenge for the four participants will be to use their creativity to create a gourmet dinner for two that costs less than $50 and fits on the Honda NC700X. Luckily for our contestants, the new Honda NC700X has a massive 21-liter storage area that will make that job a whole lot easier for them. The winner will be chosen based on these three elements-
1. How many items were used
2. Staying within the $50 limit
3. The most creative meal as determined by a professional chef

The Commuter Challenge
Commuting in rush hour traffic can be tough. So we decided to throw our four participants straight into the heart of LA traffic to see who would come out on top. Two lucky guys got to ride the Honda NC700X from the Cycle World offices to downtown LA, with one participant travelling via public transportation and our final participant driving a car. The winner will be decided based on-
1. Shortest travel time to downtown LA
2. How many Honda NC700X accessories they could name
3. Stress test

The 0 – 9000 Feet Challenge
One of the great things about California is the ability to be at the beach in the morning and then be hiking in the beautiful mountains by the end of the day. The final challenge took our four participants from the coast of Southern California, all the way up to the China Peak Ski Resort in the Sierra mountains. The challenge for our participants was to see who could capture the best Instagram photo as they travelled from 0 to 9000 feet in elevation. The winner will be selected by Cycle World staff photographer Jeff Allen at the conclusion of the ride at the China Peak Ski Resort.
