A race winner last season in the closely contested AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class, Ducati's middleweight superbike is now known as the 848 EVO. Engine upgrades, which include higher-compression pistons and elliptically shaped throttle bodies feeding revised cylinder heads, have resulted in a 6-hp bump, boosting claimed peak output to 140 hp. Radial-mount Brembo Monoblocs are the most significant chassis change. Most of the rest of the package, from the bodywork to the digital dash to the single-sided swingarm, is just like that of the 1198. Matte-black paint is standard; add $1000 for Red or Arctic White Silk.
