If you want a serious off-road racer in the quarter-liter class, and a bike that also is street-legal in all 50 states, meet the TE250. Powered by an all-new engine that not only differs from those in the rest of the TE line, it's 13-percent lighter than the previous 250's mill. Four radially splayed titanium valves are opened by a pair of chain-and-gear-driven cams. Dry-sump lubrication, six-speed gearbox, Mikuni fuel injection and electric starting are other significant features. The lightweight frame is suspended on a 48mm Kayaba fork and a Sachs shock, with Brembo braking components handling the stopping duties.
