One of Ducati's most popular models, this middleweight superbike borrows heavily from the race-winning 1198, which is not a bad place to start in search of performance! Power is up 30 percent over the previous-generation 749, meaning there is a claimed 134 horses lurking in the engine bay. Couple this with the fact that the 848 is also 44 pounds lighter than its predecessor, and the recipe for speed is looking very tasty. Much of the rest of the package, from the sleek bodywork to the racing-inspired digital dash to the single-sided swingarm, is just like that of the 1198. Matte-black paint is standard; add $1000 for a red/white scheme.
