Cycle World rides to Wheels Through Time

As gearhead museums go, it doesn't get much better than Dale Walksler's Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Walksler has a lifetime of collecting behind him and has amassed one of the finest collections of rare American motorcycles in the world. Coolest part is that most of the more-than 300 or so bikes run. He is as happy as can be to cruise around the place kickstarting almost anything, from ancient hillclimbers to the finest of Crockers.

Several hundred Hoot folks signed up for the Cycle World-hosted day-ride from Knoxville, Tennessee (Hoot HQ) to the museum this past June. Among the guests was this year's “Head Hooter,” off-road racing legend Malcolm Smith serving as Grand Marshal. There were great roads, nice people, fabulous old bikes and lunch, too.
