Brammo Enertia Best Buy Racing

Best Buy, the international consumer-electronics retailer best known for being a one-stop shop for audio/video/PC products, has put its name behind what could be the ultimate battery-powered toy. Best Buy is an official sponsor of the Brammo electric bikes that will compete in the upcoming Isle of Man TTXGP race. The team will be officially known as Team Brammo Enertia Best Buy Racing.

Less racy is the Brammo Enertia electric runabout that Best Buy plans to sell. Top speed is a claimed 50 mph; range is 35–40 miles, with a 3-hour recharge time. Price? An estimated $12,000.

Brammo (www.brammo.com) is a specialty-vehicle manufacturer developing next-generation transportation products, including the Enertia plug-in electric motorcycle—coincidentally to be sold in select West Coast Best Buy stores this summer. "Our goal with Brammo Enertia Best Buy Racing is to explore future capabilities, technologies and features of the production-based Enertia electric motorcycle and the future of the Brammo product line," stated Brammo founder and CEO Craig Bramscher. "Having Best Buy support has really helped Brammo elevate the program, and it is awesome to have their involvement."

Team Brammo will field two riders in the TTXGP, Roy Richardson and Mark Buckley. The zero-emissions TTXGP, scheduled for June 12, will take place at the Isle of Man TT. Twenty-three teams from around the world are entered in the TTXGP; the event is designed to introduce carbon-free racing to the world.
