Italians are, in general, genial and easy-going people. At least they are until they get ahold of a motor vehicle. They are serious about things with wheels, be it a bicycle, motorcycle, sports car or locomotive.

Perhaps that’s why Milan, the most serious and business-minded city in Italy, is hosting the 65th annual Association of Motorcycle and Bicycle Manufacturers (EICMA, in Italian) show. It’s a staggeringly huge event, with over 1900 companies crowding the 81 acres of display area at the gargantuan Fiera Milano facility on the outskirts of Milan. It basically displays the entire world’s production of motorcycles, bicycles and related products, and it’s also known as the place to show important new models to the public.

But the huge crowds—this year an estimated 500,000 visitors are expected—don’t just come for the new models. They also come for the sexy female models, the opportunity to see and touch all the latest riding gear and accessories, and to watch a full schedule of racing events held in the outdoor MotoLive track. It’s total moto-immersion.

We’re here on the scene in Milan, working to get you the latest info on your favorite European brands. We’ll keep updating our galleries with more photos, video and information, so be sure to check this space as well as the forums.
