Harley-Davidson Project LiveWire - FILM STAR!

Hot news from the Comic-Con conference in San Diego: Harley-Davidson announced that Project LiveWire, the company's first electric motorcycle, will be Black Widow's ride in the upcoming movie, Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron. That's right, Natasha Romanoff, otherwise known as Scarlett Johansson, will pilot the Project LiveWire in what Harley calls "an epic scene" in the Captain America film.

As Captain America fans will recall, the Harley Street 750 played a role in Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier earlier this year. Not to be outdone by the LiveWire, the Street 750 also makes an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

"Our partnership with Marvel continues to provide thrilling platforms to showcase our latest innovations to existing and new fans of the brand," said Dino Bernacchi, director of U.S. marketing at Harley-Davidson.

For the record, the Harley-Davidson Project LiveWire is not for sale. It is a “technology demonstrator” that will help Harley get insights as to what riders might expect from an electric motorcycle. Fans in San Diego will get to ride the bike at the San Diego Harley dealership July 25-26.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, with a star-studded cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. (as Tony Stark/Iron Man) Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), is set for release in the US on May 1, 2015.

By that time, Harley certainly should know if the Project LiveWire (or something very like it) will become a regular production model. Our best guess: It will.
