Bell Helmets Rogue Revealed

Bell Helmets Press Release:

Today, Bell unveiled “Rogue,” a unique open-face helmet, designed to provide facial coverage from the elements that previously had not been provided by any other open-face helmet on the market.

Designed with the cruiser market in mind, but appropriate for a wide variety of motorcycling applications, Rogue addresses a long-standing gap in the market for an open-face helmet that provides increased coverage against the elements. Particularly useful in cold-weather conditions and for long-distance touring, Rogue is equipped with a, adjustable and detachable “muzzle” system, allowing riders increased comfort and protection against the elements.  The muzzle benefits are also aesthetic, creating an ominous-look to the Rogue, ideal for the attitude and lifestyle synonymous with the cruiser category.

“For years, our sales reps and dealers have had cruiser riders lamenting about the need to lose their bandanas for an open face helmet that’s got the attitude and style that they seek, but also provides some facial coverage for wet, cold or other harsh riding conditions,”  said Chris Sackett, General Manager, Bell Powersports. “Rogue fulfills this need from both a standpoint of function and form, with an edgy design that makes it hands down the meanest-looking helmet we’ve ever made. So far, pre-orders from our dealers have been extremely strong, and we’re excited to see the consumer reception for this unique new design.”

Rogue is based on a lightweight composite shell that looks like a half helmet, but is actually a three-quarter design, thanks to an EPS that extends from the rear portion of the shell into a comfortable neck roll pad. The innovative muzzle is constructed from molded thermoplastic polyurethane, featuring air vents and a removable fleece liner for added comfort and protection. The muzzle fastens to the helmet through a FidLock magnetic connection system, easily fastened directly into the system’s magnetic receptors and removed by simply sliding the muzzle piece in an upward direction.  Length is also adjustable through straps on either side of the muzzle that ratchet into the helmet shell.

The helmet’s shell and EPS are available in three sizes for more expansive size range and maximum comfort, with the liner being removable and washable. Rogue is DOT certified, and available in Solid Black, Solid Matte Black, Army Green and Solid Gunny finishes. Rogue will be available at Bell dealers in March.

MSRP: $249.95

This is a funny article about a funny helmet. It is proof cruser jocks and Harley types are all about image, nothing more. They need a helmet that works, but they still cling to the dopey ideal of a bowl-style helmet for image’s sake. How goofy! I have seen long-haired cruiser guys with a little fibrglas yarmulke on the back of their head, completely covered with hair–all for style. To a passing cop it appears the rider has no helmet, but in reality there is a token helmet, its just not protective. comfortable, nor safe. Harley types who choose these dorky looking helmets for reasons of “style” first are hard to understand.

When you spend $40,000 + on a motorcycle, you only have $20 left to buy a novelty helmet….

I love my full face helmet, but I know im much closer to the road with a half helmet. and the new bike i just got has the mirrors low and most cruisers ive had i havent been able to see my speedo without physically looking down. havent used this helmet but its sad when the first review has nothing to do with usability or function.

    Is this for roller derby??????

I don’t mind the helmet , but I can’t do the gas mask part. It would bother the hell out of me, I just can’t do masks.

So if I wear the muzzle how are people gonna be able to see my kewl bandito bandana I wear over my face? Is there one with flames on it? Skulls? Will all models of Oakley sunglasses fit with the muzzle on? Dorx.

    • econobiker

Pushover69, you need to develop vinyl wraps for the muzzle then…

why hate on other motorcyclists? whether it’s a sport bike, cruiser, chopper, bobber, cafe, enduro or motard people choose them not only for the experience but, like it or not, identify an image with it. at least it gives a better option of a not full face. i personally think it’s a cool design and appears functional, which i do not believe bell would have produced it otherwise. there’s douchebags on all styles of motorcycles.

Finally! A full face helmet without all the annoying crash protection for the face that is normally provided by a real full face helmet. I had a crash a few years ago where I landed face first on the highway at 45 mph. I was wearing one of those annoying full face helmets and my face was spared any injury by the helmet’s annoying solid chin bar and full coverage plastic face shield.

  • RACER RACER

this is a street helmet not for the track!!!

  • Bullett888

Is this helmet available in Australia yet ?????

  • bikerferlife

    Dear Racer Racer,

Nobody is ‘talking smack’ because they secretly want one. It’s because they openly do not want one. See the difference? Enjoy yours on your Nightster Monster, another style over substance choice that you evidently like to make.

And by the way, giving yourself that name and saying it twice won’t make you one.

i like the helmet, it has an old looking style without the mask. but the mask is exactly what i motorcyclist could used when it get cold or when it rains, the protection on a long distant trip on a really windy day where crap is flying all over the place. but when the weather is sunny and shining. i can take that mask off put it on my bag . not only that…. i like to snowboard. i could use the helmet for that too.
