Unboxed: Schuberth SR1

Schuberth North America's Sarah Schilke stopped by the Cycle World editorial offices this week to unveil the German helmet manufacturer's latest lid: the SR1.

Based on the custom racing helmet designed for recently re-retired Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, this premium full-face design is DOT- and ECE-approved, produced from proprietary materials in three shell sizes (XS-XXL) and comes in two graphics and three solid colors. Claimed weight for a size Small is just 2.9 pounds.

The SR1 is currently available at Schuberth-stocking dealers. MSRP is $899. Look for a review in the coming weeks.
