eBay Motors, the largest online marketplace for buying and selling all things automotive, announced the launch of eBay Garage, an online community and personalization platform designed with enthusiasts in mind. eBay Garage enables people to showcase and share their vehicles, connect directly with other auto fans, view vehicles within the community to get inspired for their next purchase or project, and easily find and buy parts and accessories that fit the vehicles they’ve saved.
eBay Garage builds upon the functionality of My Vehicles, an eBay Motors feature that enables customers to save and share their vehicle profile, and personalize their shopping experience by finding parts that fit their vehicles. To date, more than two million vehicle profiles have been saved using My Vehicles.
The new eBay Garage builds upon the experience to connect car fans with others in the community who share their passions, providing them with a central online venue to share their vehicles with others, exchange tips they learned from past auto projects, gain insights for their next one, or simply let others know how much they like their vehicle. Users can browse the eBay Garage community to view the profiles of vehicles they are interested in, add them to their Favorites, or provide comments and ask questions regarding the vehicles they view.
The eBay Garage makes searching for vehicles that match community members’ particular interests easy through simple search tools, and also includes featured vehicle categories such as muscle cars, choppers, or off road vehicles. Users can also tag their vehicle profile with a hashtag to create vehicle groups such as #Sportbikes or #Ducati’s.
People also can access their eBay Garage anytime, anywhere through the eBay Motors iPhone app, where they can view their vehicles, add new ones, and even shop for parts that fit their rides right when inspiration strikes. Auto fans can browse the vehicles on the community page, favorite the vehicles they like, and share the profiles of the vehicles they are interested in with their social channels, right from the palms of their hands. They also can take advantage of the app’s advanced features, like VIN scanning technology that allows users to instantly upload their vehicles’ information into their eBay Garage by simply scanning the vehicle’s VIN barcode.
