Suzuki’s promotional sidebag deal is a real steal.

Suzuki’s GSX1250FA is on our list of favorite sporty, standard-style machines. With the addition of Suzuki’s bolt-on accessory hard saddlebag set, the comfy-riding sportbike is even better suited to daily commuting and sport-touring.

So, what’s the deal with the bags? In an effort to clear out existing GSX1250FA inventory, Suzuki is running a promotional sales offer through March, 2012, that deeply discounts the saddlebag set and its associated mounting hardware (a $1085 retail value)

to $199 with the purchase of a 2011 GSX.

We recently put the bike/bag combo to the test and found the key-lockable, injection-molded ABS plastic bags to be rugged, watertight and very easy to attach and detach from the mounting framework that remains on the bike when the bags are removed. For riders in need of additional storage, a detachable top case ($230) offering 37 liters of storage capacity is available to easily mount to the tail rack (which is already a part of the sidebag framework) behind the seat.

A similar deal is also being offered for leftover 2011 V-Strom 650 ABS units.
