Moto finished, you exit the track and putt to your pickup—time for a well-earned break. But not before you hoist the rear wheel of your 200-plus-pound Thumper high enough to hip-check it onto a service stand. If only that last part could be as smooth and effortless as the on-track action…
It can be. Ogio’s revolutionary 180 Moto Stand takes the clean-and-jerk out of riding. It’s easy to use: Simply place the stand upside-down in the dirt and roll your motorcycle forward through the aluminum framework. The bike’s lower frame rails make contact with the stand, locking the stand in place and causing it to rotate. Rubber pads riveted onto the bottom of the stand provide traction, reducing slippage. Keep pushing the bike forward until the stand makes a complete 180-degree turn and your machine is resting atop its new perch. There’s no lifting whatsoever, just forward motion.
It takes a few tries to become at ease with the way the stand interacts with different models of bikes. Approach speed, for instance, is critical, and that, of course, varies with surface conditions. The 180 worked like a dream on most late-model four-strokes; only Honda’s CRF250R required a bit of a learning curve. Low-hanging two-stroke expansion chambers posed problems, too.
Rested and ready to ride, you simply reverse the process to put your wheels back on the ground. Continue walking the bike straight backward to avoid catching the rotating stand on a fork guard or brake caliper. No stress, no strain; just the way we like it.
