CW IndyGP Seminar Panelists

Kevin Schwantz
More than a decade after retiring from Grand Prix competition, Kevin Schwantz remains a popular fixture at tracks both in the U.S. and abroad. During his eight-year GP career, he won 25 races, sat on pole 29 times and won the 1993 500cc World Championship. He currently splits his time between his Road Atlanta-based riding school, the Kevin Schwantz Suzuki School, and his work with Suzuki and the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup riders.

Jeremy Appleton
Jeremy Appleton’s early motorcycling experience was limited to crashing dirtbikes on his parents’ farm in England. Even now, his riding is confined to scootering to work. Yet Appleton is one of the behind-the-scenes movers and shakers in motorsport, MotoGP and Formula One in particular. He joined Alpinestars in 2002 and works in the communications department, which has given him great insight into many aspects of the industry, particularly in the areas of rider performance and protection.

Kevin Cameron
Technical Editor Kevin Cameron joined Cycle World in 1991 after two decades writing for Cycle magazine. He is a graduate of Harvard University, was employed at MIT and had a long racing association with Boston-area motorcycle dealerships. He has tuned for national-caliber riders and worked in tech inspection for both the AMA and FIM. He also has published two books, TDC, a compilation of his columns and features, and the recently updated Sportbike Performance Handbook.

John Hensley
Actor John Hensley is best known for his role as “Matt McNamara” on the FX television drama “Nip/Tuck.” Before becoming an actor, the native of Louisville, Kentucky, worked on a horse ranch in Wyoming. He was introduced to motorcycles as a child but had been out of the sport until 2005. These days, his focus is track-riding. He owns three Suzukis—a GSX-R600, a DR-Z400SM and a V-Strom 650.
