One thing changed America's motorcycling landscape more than any other factor: the availability of high-quality, low-cost imported motorcycles from Japan. That started in the 1960s, and now more than 70 percent of the motorcycles sold in the USA are made in Asian countries, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the People's Republic of China. And it's easy to understand why: For reliability, features, engineering, performance and low maintenance, it's hard to beat an Asian-made machine.
