Project ConqueRR - First Look

It's here and it could be yours! Project ConqueRR, a custom 2007 Honda CBR1000RR, was unveiled at the opening Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Phoenix, Arizona. ConqueRR creator Roland Sands, was joined by Ride for Kids National Director Kyle Clack and 11-year-old brain-tumor survivor Shelby and her parents for the world debut of this one-of-a-kind machine.

Clack explained the urgency for raising funds and awareness to fight this devastating childhood disease. “Each day nine children are diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor,” he said. “That’s nine families, nine communities affected. Through efforts like this, RfK has raised over $37 million dollars for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation—the largest non-government provider of funding for research into the cause and cure of this disease.”

This urgency was not lost on Cycle World, Roland Sands Design and the many individuals and companies from the motorcycle industry who provided products and services to make this project a reality. "The goal was to create a machine that captures the spirit of the kids that are facing this battle," explained Sands. "To face a life-or-death battle and come out on top is the ultimate accomplishment. The raw power and incredible performance of an Open-class sportbike seemed the perfect starting point, and from there we added more power, handling, grip and cleaned up the lines, hopefully creating something that reflects the spirit of these young conquerors."

Shelby helped pull the wraps off the completed project and the reaction of the crowd confirmed that this year's Ride for Kids project will once again be a hit with motorcycle enthusiasts around the country.
